Mrs. Louise B. Coles, age 85, grasped God’s hand and stepped over into eternity on Saturday, November 5, 2011, after living a long and courageous life of faithful service to God. Born October 26, 1926, in Roanoke, VA to the late John and Jesse Brown. Louise was a well respected and loved educator who taught in the Amherst County, Roanoke and Salem School Systems. Also, the Bedford County School System, where she was recognized as Teacher of the Year and retired in 1988. She was a faithful member of Spirit of Life Church International. Preceding Louise in death are her husband, George H. Coles, daughter, Francine B. Coles, brother, Bernard Brown, sister-in-law, Betty Brown and son-in-law, Colin Hanley Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Lynelle Hanley; sons, George (Juanita) Coles, John (Jerelean) Coles and Nathaniel (Connie) Coles; sisters, Glenora (Alphonso) Alexander and Bernice (Robert) Davis; grandchildren, Colin Hanley, Caron, Jonlyn, John Jr., Cristin, Michael, Danielle, Ansley and Carson; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; loyal caregivers, LaShaun Tillman, Cherry Covington, Kansas Massenburg and Eunice Dina; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Spirit of Life Church International with the Pastor Barbara Thomas and Dr. David C. Forbes Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery.
